Legisym First to Make CSOS Benefits Possible for Mass Retailers and Reverse Distributors
Express222 batch signing functionality offers faster, more efficient controlled substance
transfers for distributors historically underserved in CSOS market

Temple, Texas - December 8, 2011 - Legisym, a high-tech application services provider specializing in digital signature technology for the pharmaceutical supply chain, is the first to make Controlled Substance Ordering System (CSOS) technology viable for mass retailers and reverse distributors. With batch signing, a new functionality for Legisym's Web-based Express222 CSOS software, mass retailers and reverse distributors can manage all controlled substance ordering from one platform.

Mass retailers and reverse distributers handle hundreds of controlled substance orders for thousands of store locations every week. Historically, these distributors requested, reviewed, signed and shipped individual paper form 222s for each order. Express222 allows authorized compliance officers at centralized distribution centers to sign for multiple store locations from one system, automatically identifying the unique digital signing certificate for each store and systematically recording every order.

In July 2011, the new batch signing process passed all rigorous audit requirements as established by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) through the Drummond Group, a third party testing lab that conducts interoperability and conformance tests in a neutral environment. The audit confirms Express222's compliance with DEA requirements.

"In the past, CSOS didn't make sense for mass retailers and reverse distributors," said David Kessler, Chief Business Officer of Legisym. "Even with the option to review and sign orders electronically, compliance officers still had to pour through expansive lists to identify the matching store and digital signing certificate for every order, manually recording each step and final order. Express222's batch signing functionality integrates and automates all of these steps, offering significant time, labor and compliance improvements over the paper form 222 process."

Express222 is the only completely Web-based solution that meets the strict DEA order management requirements for the safe and secure transport of controlled substance pharmaceuticals, bypassing the paper form 222. The cost-effective technology enables suppliers of all sizes and requirements - servicing the occasional Class II buyer to the frequent multiple-order buyer - to take advantage of a much faster and more efficient way to move controlled substances.
